In this paper, I analyse the accounts of the European travellers, who have had contact with Zoroastrians of their era or who provide information regarding their conditions in the period between 1800 and 1850. My goal is to provide a critical description of the leading Europeans who have travelled to Iran in the first half of the 19th century to highlight those who are useful to the studies of Zoroastrianism.

Abstract

In this paper, I analyse the accounts of the European travellers, who have had contact with Zoroastrians of their era or who provide information regarding their conditions in the period between 1800 and 1850. My goal is to provide a critical description of the leading Europeans who have travelled to Iran in the first half of the 19th century to highlight those who are useful to the studies of Zoroastrianism.
